As for elders who have retired many adapt to the free lifestyle some stick to their old habits. Here are the five ways elders can maintain a good lifestyle for quality living.
1. Eat and Sleep Healthy
Nutrition and rest are the most essential tools to obtain a healthy lifestyle. As adults the digestive track and energy levels might not be at par for adults so they need to adjust accordingly. It’s key for the diet to be high in fiber, vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and lean protein (meat). These foods will keep them energetic while also aiding slow digestion.Have three servings of vitamin D-fortified low-fat or fat-free milk, yogurt, or cheese every day to help keep your bones strong as you age.
2. Stay physically active.
Exercise not only alleviates depression but improves energy and memory. An exercise program approved by a physician, long walks or short strolls can keep seniors healthier longer.
With their health under control, seniors can do more and stay active, which is important to their overall well-being. Being active can be hard if your mobility is limited or if you have serious health problems. But, you can find activities to meet your needs. Slowly raising your arms or legs, for example, may help you when done on a regular, repeated basis.
3. Exercise Your Brain
Keep your brain active. Feeding your creativity is key, especially now that you are retired and are no longer challenged by your career. While physical exercise helps keep your brain alert other activities like word games, crossword puzzles, learning a new language, learning a new skill keep your brain strong.
Try exercise or relaxation technique like meditation or yoga as a means of coping. Make time for friends and social contacts and fun. Successful coping can affect our health and how we feel. Positive thinking can be reinforced by daily practice.

Life is not what it used to be anymore, seniors have lost their loved ones, dear ones or have been separated from them, but it’s important to make them realize to be good to themselves.

Your teeth and gums will last a lifetime if you care for them properly that means daily brushing and flossing and getting regular dental checkups. By age 50, most people notice changes to their vision, including a gradual decline in the ability to see small print or focus on close objects. Common eye problems that can impair vision include cataracts and glaucoma. Hearing loss occurs commonly with aging, often due to exposure to loud noise. Get your check up done regularly.
Plus, many mouth infections can be linked to serious health conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease and stroke. So seniors should see the dentist regularly.
